Maureen Denise McCormick, youngest daughter and sole daughter from Richard McCormick and Irene McCormick, was born in Woodland Hills on 5 August 1956. The mother was also a homemaker. She has three older brothers: Michael, Dennis and Kevin. At a very young time, McCormick loved to sing and dance, and would often put on puppet shows for the neighborhood children. In the age of six, she won at the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley contest. This led her to get a phone message by Pat Domigan at the Jack Wormser Agency asking whether the girl might be interested in pursuing an employment within the entertainment business. McCormick was chosen for her first major role in 1964. McCormick appeared in a Mattel commercial that starred her doll Baby Pattaburp. Her next major job was to appear in a TV commercial for "Chatty" the Cathy doll. The show The Wind It And It breaks, which took place at La Jolla Playhouse and was subsequently followed. McCormick was the eldest of three daughters who had two heads on The Brady Bunch TV sitcom The Brady Bunch. Florence Henderson was the main character as well as Robert Reed was the father. The run of five seasons of the show proved to be a huge successful one. McCormick admitted in her book that was published in 2008, entitled"Here's My Story: How I Survived Marcia Brady And Finding My True Voice the fact that Barry Williams was her screen brother. At the time, she was just 16 years old, and he was 19. "It would have happened," she said, "but the timing was never suitable to us."
