In America in the beginning, the performances of Maureen FitzSimons (who we know as Maureen O'Hara) would definitely place her into the child prodigy category. For a child from Irish origin, and surrounded by gifted parents and a loving family, they had innate talents. Maureen was born in Ranelagh an area in Dublin the capital of Ireland on the 17th of August 1920. Marguerita Lea. FitzSimons had a successful contralto. Her father, Charles FitzSimons, managed an enterprise in Dublin and also owned part of the famous Irish soccer team "The Shamrock Rovers." Maureen FitzSimons placed second from a household of six FitzSimons. Peggy FitzSimons Florrie Charles B. Fitzsimons Margot Fitzsimons James O'Hara rounded off this gorgeous group. Maureen did well as a sporty woman and played rough, athletic sports when she was a young. This passion was combined with an equally natural talent to perform. This was demonstrated by her winning pretty much every Feis award for drama and performances in the theater that her nation offered. By age 14 she was invited into the world-renowned Abbey Theater and pursued her goal of performing in classical theatre and operatic singing.
